Share this page print Ricky Hatton loses to Vyacheslav Senchenko in comeback fight   Ricky Hatton's comeback to the boxing ring ended in defeat, knocked out by Ukrainian opponent Vyacheslav Senchenko in the ninth round in Manchester.

The 34-year-old started offensively and opened a cut just under Senchenko's left eye.

But Hatton tired as the fight wore on, and in the penultimate round Senchenko landed a crunching shot to his ribs.

Hatton buckled and fell to the canvas and was unable to climb to his feet in time to beat the count.

More to follow.

Legendary boxer

bad way to go out, but i,d rather that than be seriously hurt against a top rank boxer

Pac-man, Mayweather, Amir Khan, Kell Brook OR Marquez would have hurt him

It's just too much to come back at 34, after 3 years out. His heart ruled his head on this one.

He's 34. 3 years out of the ring. He has abused his body whilst boxing has moved on in that period. That is no preparation for pro boxing. But then his advisors should have been telling him that. Tonight's defeat is no surprise. Shame 'cos I really like Ricky Hatton. Hopefully he will retire properly now before he gets irreversibly hurt.
